Dear teammates,

Recently many of you have been unclear about the training schedule, and have been asking the ExCo about it. Despite Miss Tan posting an EMB message twice, people are still asking the same questions.
Please excercise some self discipline and read the EMB on a regular basis. With effect from today, anyone who persistenly asks about the training schedule without a valid reason for not knowing about it will be punished.
In the meantime, people are coming to have their dinner. I think we should go now. Euhuhuhuhu!

Message from Ms Tan (:

Gentlemen,

[Warning: This is a super long message. But do some justice to my effort - READ IT!]

This message may seem to be a tad delayed, but the sheer elation felt, I’m sure, has not waned.

I'm sure you would all know by now that we have emerged OVERALL CHAMPIONS for BOTH 'A' and 'B' DIVISION BOYS at the Inter-School Wushu Championships!!

This is absolutely fantastic results and you should all be very, very proud of your achievements! Your hard work has paid off and you deserve every medal and trophy received. Miss Tan Siu Ching, Mrs Cheryl Siah and I share your pride and joy. Give yourselves a pat on the back. This is the best we have done and the furthest we have come in a long time.

Congratulatory messages have come in from many teachers, including...
* Dr Hon, who sent an sms from Beijing to congratulate you guys for the hard work and great achievement;
* Mr Tok Aik Lin, who was with us at the Grand Finals, and was very happy to share that wonderful moment with us all; and
* Mr Joseph Tan Yeow Heng, who is now with Cedar Girls', was very happy to hear that we have done so well in the competition this year. He, too, sends his congratulations to all of you.

I would like to commend all of you on your achievements. Kudos to everyone...
* Sec 4s:
You ought to be very proud that 'B' Division has cliched the championship trophy under your leadership! I'm glad that you have persevered and risen above the disappointments at past years' competitions, accumulated those rich experiences and prevailed this year.

Special mention of the following:
- Yi Xiang, whom we know would clich us medals at the competition every year, and yet remains very humble despite his achievements (not even wanting to kiss the championship trophy despite Kelvin's urging during photo taking).
- Shannon, who stoically tolerated the pain and competed in the last few events with an injured thumb, especially painful must be the Cudgel event. Take care and get well soon.
- Shun Xiang and Max, who have put up a strong showing and come away with personal “bronzes”.
- Yu Ann, Yue Quan and Daniel, who have also put up strong showings in your individual events, and are winners in your own right, especially Yue Quan and Daniel who are competing for the first time, though you were not placed.
- Kelvin, Augustine and Alston, for cheering the team on at the Grand Finals, especially Kelvin whose energy and enthusiasm at the prize presentation and photo taking did not go unnoticed.

* Sec 3s:
You, too, should be very proud to be part of the champion ‘B’ division! You have big shoes to fill next year, but I am sure you are ready for the challenge with your experience from this year. Special mention of the following:
- Cheng Yong and Jiahe, who not only have given your own Sec 4 seniors a run for their medals, but also the other schools’ competitors. But the Sec 4s are clearly proud of your achievements – they have dubbed you the “wunderkind” (that’s my word, of course, the Sec 4s’ vocabulary not as powerful, they say “wonder kids”).

* Sec 2s and 1s:This is the first competition for most of you and I hope you have come away with a good experience and are enthused to do better next year. Though many of you were not placed for your events, your efforts and potential have not gone unnoticed. I hope you will put this year’s experience to good use and continue to grow in your Wushu “prowess”. And in the meantime, you have every right to share in the ‘A’ and ‘B’ Divisions’ pride and joy.
Special mention of the following:
- Alfred, who for two years, have clinched medals for the ‘C’ Division, and have shown that there is great potential in him.

I do realise this message is getting too long. So to all whom I have failed to mention individually, you and your contribution and participation did not go unnoticed and is no less important. Every single member – as a competitor, a reserve, or supporter – is greatly appreciated.

I am especially heartened to see the team grow in confidence, unity and spirit with each passing day at the competition. The support, cheers and words of encouragements given to each other was especially heartwarming. This, I feel, is also a great achievement for the team, and I hope this spirit and unity will keep growing.

With the wonderful results this year, the bar has been raised for next year’s competition – as we have to work to defend the title. I hope everyone is enthused and are committed to working towards this next year. We shall not rest on our laurels, and should continue to work hard to strive for greater heights across all divisions!

THANK YOU!

Regards,
Ms Tan

Everyone please take note,

1) Bring your drums Fu Zhuang on Thursday. Old ones included. We have to label them before keeping them.

2) DO NOT place anything on the table inside the Wushu room. Anything found lying around on the table will result in everyone pumping.

3) The room is getting dirtier by the day. Although such things should not be posted here, it is necessary to make everyone realise how we have been neglecting the cleanliness of the room; pick up any litter u find, and bring any stray items lying around back to their respective places neatly. Everyone has a part to play in maintaining a clean training environment.

4) Lastly, JIAYOU FOR COMPS :D
